BSA Boy Scout STERLING Eagle Scout Medal with GREEN Coffin Style case & Eagle Scout Patch. Offered for sale is a Robbins Type 3 Eagle Scout Medal and presentation case with an Eagle Scout Patch. This Medal is the STERLING SILVER version. The word STERLING is not on the back of the Eagle, but it is on the back of the scroll. It can be seen the last picture. The tufted ribbon, as well as the GREEN case, dates this as an early version Robbins 3. The Medal is STERLING and is in excellent condition with a nice patina. The Medal is in excellent condition, and the ribbon, although somewhat darkened from use and age, is still in unusually nice condition considering that its about 75 years old. The ribbon is strong and doesnt show any wear other than the darkened color. The Eagle Patch was originally rectangular, but the Scout cut it to oval as was a fairly common practice. Other than being oval it is in very good condition. The GREEN coffin style case is very rare. There is some wear and the cover doesnt snap shut, but overall it is in very nice condition, considering its age. The 1930s and 40s cases were usually black, so to some collectors, the green case may be worth more than the Eagle Medal.
