W 1938 plus 7 various other merit badges. This lot is featuring the 1938 Jamboree cloth badge. And is quite rare to find being a relatively early one in the Australian Scouting Jamboree history. Held at Bradfield Park in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Please note, this Jamboree (and the others) are GENUINE ORIGINALS, there was a set of’replica’ commemorative badges released some time ago, after much research trying to find an original image of the original design, I discovered the design of the 1938 badge is different to the replica in a few ways, I have observed the following….. Original no edge stitching (replica is edge stitched), original has a black backing attached (replica not), original Kookaburras’ beak, tail, shape is different, original N. W has no full stop after the W replica has N. , shield has small white triangles near the A above Sydney and above the 8 in 1938 (replica is all gold in colour), original has 7 pointed Stars (replica has 5 pointed stars), and the 2 stars behind the Kooaburra are in a different position from original to replica, original has forked tree branch to the edge of the green stitching (replica branches finish shorter), there maybe more subtle differences? But these are the ones I have noticed.. Embroidered Cloth AUSTRALIAN Australian Boy Scouts Patches lot. As a vintage item the patches will show signs of age/marks /we a and tear. Please use pictures as a guide to this particular item. As found in Australian household estate, these patches were found with other early Australian scouting items.
