This is a very rare lot of scarce Boy Scouts patches / badges that are still attached to the original arm bands. These all came from England and probably made their way to America when someone immigrated and brought all their belongings with them. There are some very rare merit badge patches and Boy Scouts emblems in the lot. The interesting ones are the handsewn “Oxford” troop patch and the “22” patch. All these patches are most likely from 1920s. I also do not want to remove the patches from the blue arm bands. I have tried looking under Boy Scouts items from 1920s in England and I couldn’t find any arm bands like these. Possibly not official Boy Scouts arm bands but maybe they were able to make some of their own things to show off their patches. I do not know the names of all the badges, but I will name the ones that I do know. Included in this lot are: (1) Signaller proficiency badge patch (2) Gardener badge patch (3) Cyclist badge patch (4) Ambulance badge patch (5) Guide badge patch (6) King’s Scout badge patch (7) 1st Class “Be Prepared” badge patch (3.25″ tall) (8) 2nd Class first pattern award brass sleeve badge (1-5/8″ wide, marked on back “REGd 539538″) (9-10) 1st Pattern patrol leader seconder hat badge (1-7/8″ tall) with matching “Be Prepared” badge underneath marked “REG No 533203? (11-15) For these 5 badge patches, I was not able to find their names. There is a bugle, lightning bolt, star, pen & paper, and what looks like a red flower or sun. (16-17) Two small stars on green felt (18) Embroidered “22” patch (1″ long, most likely stands for the Troop 22 in Oxford) (19) Matching embroidered “Oxford” patch (3.5″ long, most likely the Oxford, England Boy Scouts troop) The two what I assume arm bands measure 7.5″ x 9.5″ and made of blue felt with a ribbon tie on each corner. The hat badge and the Oxford badge were attached to just a piece of everyday material. These were not recently attached but look to have been attached in the 1920s.
