RARE VINTAGE 1930 Camp Sakawawin BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA FELT PATCH
The first examples of camp patches were no more than Felt letters or combinations of a design with letters. The following examples are from Camp Delmont and Camp Sakawawin. Most of these designs were used from the 1920s to the mid 1930s. In 1929 New Brunswick Council moved summer camp to Cedar Lake in Blairstown, NJ. New Brunswick Council leased part of a privately owned area and called the new location Camp Sakawawin. Later in 1929, New Brunswick Council changed its name to Middlesex Council.
