The TYPE 1 Bronze award is rarer than the highly prized TYPE 1 Silver award because the TYPE 1 bronze and gold awards were discontinued only after a year or so in the earlier part of the B. Explorer Program, and according to online research many are unaware that these Type 1’s exist. This information was taken from Boy Scout Collectibles. This lot is very rare, and to find a Type 1 patch in crisp mint condition is extremely tough. I’m sorry for the lighting, the patch appears gold in some pictures because of the glare, however I can assure that this is the Bronze variety. No Explorer Collection is complete without these earlier and dried up Type 1’s. Also, the Type 2 Patch (the Red one) appears to have been lightly sewn, but is in great condition.
